The Sensex and Nifty gained over 1% on the back of relentless buying seen across board. Capital goods gained further ground followed by auto, IT and banking. At 1.10 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 235.06 points or 1.22% at 19,497.60 with 26 components gaining.

Market reaction not alarming, says Udayan
CNBCTV18’s Udayan Mukherjee says the market reaction after a good run hasn’t been too alarming. He also says that the midcaps corrected more than the largecaps, and says “It was a flat week for the Nifty, on the Sensex despite 1.5% fall, the midcap index still managed to close the week up 2%.”
Instanex FII drops 0.58% at close: JP Assoc top loser

Indian equities bounced back in early trade on Friday snapping earlier losses. At 9.29.am, the Sensex was trading up 76.52 points or 0.39% at 19,667.70 with 23 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 19.55 points or 0.33% at 5,905.25 with 37 components gaining.
